History
The Zimbabwe Council for Tourism was formed in 1988, with the objective of speaking with one voice for the interests of Tourism private sector players throughout the country. ZCT works to ensure the creation of an environment in which it is possible for operators to maintain and grow their businesses, with consequent benefit to the economy as a whole.
As the ‘Voice of Tourism Business’, ZCT represents the entire scope of Travel and Tourism enterprises, ranging from operators of retail travel agencies, safari and hunting operators to car rental and activities companies, all organized into sub-sector member associations.
As the economy evolves, ZCT also supports the formation of new associations in the Travel and Tourism value chain representing emergent and previously unrepresented segments.
We are officially recognized by the Ministry of Tourism & Hospitality, the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), the Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (RETOSA) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
